Charles Yoder Talks Great Food At Extreme Pizza At 5th St. Station In Charlottesville, Virginia

by

Jerry Miller: Hey guys, it’s Jerry Miller. I’m inside Extreme Pizza in 5th St. Station right next to The Yard with my buddy Charles Yoder, who is the manager here at Extreme Pizza. I’m really excited to get his opinion on the menu. One of the things I like is coming here with my wife and son. It’s very family friendly. What are some of the families ordering from a pizza standpoint, first?

Charles Yoder: Mostly, The Yard Sale. We check the sales, that’s at the top of the list every single month. Drag It Thru The Garden, The Bunny Slope – that has become a huge one – The Screamin’ Tomato for the vegetarian side.

Subs, it’s usually the Chicken Parmesan, but people are starting to venture into our more exotic ones. They’re starting to catch on with The Fear Factor, and it’s all the roasted red peppers and caramelized onions that they’re getting in there.

People are starting to catch on to our ingredients and the fact that Cavalier Produce is bringing us stuff every other day. That’s our big focus there.

The Pow Pows…

Jerry Miller: That’s the dessert.

Charles Yoder: Yes, they are huge!

Jerry Miller: Love them!

Charles Yoder: It’s twisted sticks with cheese, only this time we put in Nutella, chocolate, powdered sugar and – if you want – candied walnuts (if you don’t do candied walnuts, you’re losing out).

Jerry Miller: One of the things that I want to emphasize – and I see it first hand with Charles – everything is made fresh every day. I mean he is making it every day. It’s not like you’re getting a pie or crust or dessert from three or four days ago, Charles.

Charles Yoder: Yeah, we have a prep guy come in every morning. We don’t let our dough go more than one day out, it will be used up. But he literally, from scratch, makes everything every morning, hand rolled. Everything’s fresh as can be. The only way you get it fresher is if you went to the actual farmer and pulled it up out of the ground.

Jerry Miller: Great answer from Charles. Charles Yoder, the manager here at Extreme Pizza.

We can’t wait for you guys to try this place. Prices are fair, Happy Hour is very fantastic, everything made fresh every day. It’s located at 5th St. Station. Extreme Pizza, locally owned and operated.
