Shenandoah Joe has some of the most educated baristas in town! Dave says that while he handles the roasting of the beans, it’s the staff that is making the coffee into fabulous drinks for us to enjoy. The staff gets customers coming back again and again! Dave says his staff is truly what makes Shenandoah Joe such a special place!!! In fact, every Wednesday, Dave invites the staff to a team meeting so they can learn more about the coffee served at Shenandoah Joe! Each person is handed a cup of Joe, and they share knowledge/education as one strong team. How cool is that?!?!

December through April is harvesting time for coffee bean farmers and Dave is not just sitting around! Dave has spent the last 15 years traveling the world to find the best coffee for you the customer. He has built exclusive relationships with farmers who will only sell their coffee beans to Shenandoah Joe!

BREAKING NEWS! Shenandoah Joe’s Preston Avenue location is expanding! Dave expects to have the expansion completed later this summer. When’s he’s done with expansion, he will have a flagship coffeehouse that is 6,000 square feet. Dave hopes to give cupping lessons where he will teach people about his current blends and how he scours the earth for great coffee beans!

When Dave first took over Shenandoah Joe from a former mom-and-pop shop 15 years ago Dave, got right to work! Having travelled around the world, Dave knew a good cup of joe! He fell in love with a varietal blend of beans that eventually became Dave’s Blend, a dark roast with beans sourced from Central America, South America and Indonesia. When asked what the best cup of joe is, Dave is quick to answer, “DAVE’S BLEND OF COURSE!”
