Named after Executive Chef and Co-Owner Christian Kelly’s daughter, Maya Restaurant has been one of the premiere Charlottesville restaurants for more than 10 years now. In May of 2017, the Maya Restaurant team celebrated its 10-year anniversary! Maya Restaurant is a staple of the Charlottesville community, especially in Midtown!

Christian Kelly is the genius behind the menu at Maya Restaurant. Christian has made it a priority to deliver the best Southern comfort cuisine possible. He makes sure that all of the food is sourced with ingredients from local farms!

Peter Castiglione has decades of experience in the restaurant business, and it shows in the way he treats every guest with respect and greets them with a smile! Peter has helped create a relaxing, approachable, family environment at Maya Restaurant. He has a fantastic memory and will often strike conversation with his guests and remember topics from the last time they enjoyed a delicious meal and cocktail at Maya Restaurant.

Ted Norris has been voted Charlottesville’s Best Bartender six times! It’s no surprise when you get to know him. His sincere and friendly energy is one of Maya Restaurant’s greatest assets. Plus, Ted is a tremendous mixologists. Seriously, his drinks are bangin, baby!

The Pimento Cheese Fritters come topped with pepper jelly on a bed of chive sour cream. When I eat at Maya Restaurant, I order the Pimento Cheese Fritters. They are easily one of THE BEST appetizers in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Another great way to start your meal at Maya Restaurant, the Local Mushroom Plate is a gorgeous spread of Sharondale Farm mushrooms, sunflower seeds & sun-dried tomato pesto, Jarlsberg cheese & leek tart, charred asparagus and pink peppercorn crème fraiche!

This Southern classic is one of my favorite meals in Charlottesville! Served in a house BBQ sauce, the Baby Back Ribs are damn good! They are so good, you’re probably going to want to lick the plate clean!

The Local Trout is another one of my favorites. Featuring brown butter sauce and capers, this Maya Restaurant special is tender on the inside with a crisp, spiced crust on the outside!

Choosing sides at Maya Restaurant always gives me trouble because they’re all so good! Their Brussel Sprouts are absolutely incredible. They are mixed with bacon and onions, and are usually one of my first choices.

A Southern comfort food tradition, the Stone-Ground Grits at Maya Restaurant are made with white cheddar. They are cooked smooth and creamy and make a great side for any entree.

With Ted Norris behind the bar and a huge selection of bourbons, whiskeys, beers, wines, cocktails and mocktails, the world is your oyster when it comes to libations at Maya Restaurant! Some of our favorite cocktails are the Pomegranate Sunset, the Country Collins and Smokey the Bee! Monday through Friday from 5 – 7 pm you can enjoy $3 – $5 happy hour snacks, $1 off all beers and wine by the glass, as well as $4 rails!

You have your choice of a patio that seats 80, a first floor dining area which seats 32, an upstairs dining area with seating for 60 and the bar and lounge area where you and a group of up to 30 can enjoy less formal events!
