Blue Hole can be found after a beautiful hike through the western portion of Albemarle county and right after the Sugar Hollow trail. It is the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day after a great hike, enjoy the rope swing, jump off the rocks, or just bring a float and relax in the water.

Walnut Creek is a 525 acre park, 45 of those being water and the rest made up of bike trails, disc golf, and beautiful woods to hike through. You can rent a canoe, fish or just relax on one of two sandy beaches they offer!

5. Riprap Hollow

Riprap hollow is a beautiful portion of the Shenandoah National Park, popular for kayaking and the natural water slides. While it is meant for the more intense water sport people it offers a long, beautiful hike around the scenic park and is a can’t miss spot if you’re desperate to cool off on a hot day!
6. Paul’s Creek

Paul’s Creek is a great whitewater rafting spot close to Wintergreen resort. Because it is a very steep creek, the American Whitewater Association suggests you try some of the tamer, nearby creeks before jumping over to this beautiful body of water.
