Apex Clean Energy, Riverbend Development, William McDonough, and Hourigan Development announced plans for a new eight-story office building on the current Gleason Street parking lot at ACAC Downtown.
Construction will begin March 1, 2020. The parking lot will be unavailable for at least 12 months. This parking lot offers free parking to 1,000’s of ACAC members every single day.
How will this impact parking around Downtown Charlottesville?? Will there be a cascading impact with parking on Water Street, Market Street and its side streets?? Will this short-term parking shortage be leveraged to push the proposed 300-space Market Street Parking Garage??
How will this new commercial development influence Charlottesville City Councilors Nikuyah J Walker, Sena Floyd, Heather Danforth Hill, Lloyd Snook and Michael Payne??
The eight-story, 187,000 square foot office building will offer sustainable design features unique to structures of its scale and will serve many of Charlottesville’s prominent local businesses.
