Delegate David J. Toscano of the 57th District joined me on The I Love CVille Show! David J. Toscano spent 68 minutes with us spotlighting his love for Charlottesville and Central Virginia, his commitment to integrity, hard work and representing folks of all socioeconomic backgrounds in the House of Delegates.

Delegate Toscano relayed some awesome stories to us, including his time in Charlottesville on City Council and as the Mayor of CVille. He spotlighted the evolution of the Charlottesville DowntownMall on both the East and West ends.

Delegate Toscano told a funny story about working in his dad’s tuxedo rental store in Syracuse, New York. He measured a teenaged Terry McAuliffe for his high school prom tuxedo in this store. I loved this story!

I asked Delegate Toscano how a Syracuse boy found himself in Charlottesville, Virginia and later the House of Delegates.

We also discussed his love story with Nancy, his wife, partner, confidante and advisor of 45 years.

We analyzed the big bills he passed in the House, including Medicaid Expansion, which he believes was the most consequential vote he has taken in the House, not just for his constituents, but for so many who perhaps have never voted for a Democrat and maybe never will.

I asked Delegate Toscano how could someone possibly fill his size 10-D shoes, which segued us to Sally Hudson and Kathleen Galvin, who are both competing to fill Delegate Toscano’s empty seat.

Delegate Toscano has the gift of human connection. He’s a confident, charming, charismatic conversationalist who has left a generational legacy behind him.
