Roger L Voisinet, entrepreneur, realtor & lover of Charlottesville, joined me on The I Love CVille Show!
Roger is a longtime Charlottesville advocate and resident! We discussed the High Street condos, the Woolen Mills Project, electric cars, Charlottesville Ice Park, Main Street Arena, Crozet’s growth and more!!
Roger was responsible for bringing TEDxCharlottesville to Charlottesville, where a Methodist minister named Donald Davis presented a speech entitled “How The Story Transforms The Teller.”
University of Virginia Men’s Basketball Coach Tony Bennett’s wife, Laurel Bennett, who had attended the TEDx event, showed Coach Bennett the video. Coach decided to screen the video at the Virginia Men’s Basketball team’s first practice following the prior season’s UMBC loss.
His players used the speech as inspiration to triumph over the challenges of the 2019 NCAA Tournament by “embracing their story.” Here is a link to the Sports Illustrated story written by Andy Staples:
