Fashion Square Mall sold at auction on the Albemarle County Courthouse steps for $20,200,000 on a humid Friday afternoon in the City of Charlottesville.

The lender purchased the property.

The only bidder, Richard Hewitt, stepped aside at $20.15 million, which allowed the lender to maintain ownership of Fashion Square Mall.
