Inside CVille Food With Jerry Miller!

DOMASitting here, watching the cursor blink, “Get ready for your next restaurant, CVille! … Doma Korean Kitchen!” @JerryMillerNow on the new Midtown eatery. “I was pedaling that bike up West Main when the signage caught my eye. Doma Korean Kitchen is located three doors down from @BellasRestaurant and next to @MayaRestaurant. Deets to come on LoveCVille.com. The Midtown food & drink scene is about to be super sick!!”

I love the changes I’m seeing from the new owners. Steal the pint nights, live music, less pizza options, more panini sammies!” @JerryMillerNow on Fry’s Spring Station, which was recently acquired by a new ownership group comprised of Ben Thompson (founder of The Rock Barn), Tommy Lasley (formerly of Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar)Fry's Spring and PK Kamath (owner of Ivy Provisions). “Fry’s Spring Station has one of the coolest indoor-outdoor bars in CVille! It also embodies that sweet neighborhood vibe where everyone knows your name and your drink order.

From a food standpoint, I suggest the “After Midnight” appetizer. It is freakin’ delicious. I demolished this guy! The “After Midnight” is 10-bucks and features a hearth-baked ABC sesame loaf, stuffed with fresh mozzarella, fontina, garlic butter and chili flake.
From a drinks standpoint, the taps are always craft and local. The Fry’s Spring Station “Old Fashioned” cocktail (with Woodford Reserve) is one the best in town.”

NachosCalamariThe Chili Nachos are fantastic! The kitchen does an awesome job layering the chips with toppings. There is also a legit amount of chili on this plate,” @JerryMillerNow on the Chili Nachos from Continental Divide. “I also suggest trusting the bartender with your margarita order. They know the best tequilas and the best values on the shelf. We enjoyed super fresh margaritas for $8.25 last night. That’s not bad!”

The jalapeño punch is complimented perfectly by the fried calamari crispiness,” @JerryMillerNow on @Vivace_CVille’s Crispy Jalapeño Calamari special. “This dish will tickle your taste buds!” Click the link in our bio for the Top 11 Spots For Calamari In CVille!! Currently, Vivace Restaurant (Ivy Road) is featuring a calamari appetizer: Fresh calamari fritti, smoked tomato aioli & cherry peppers ($12). Be sure to enjoy a martini at the Vivace bar. It’s one of the coolest and longest bars in Charlottesville!!

ShebeenThe Peri-Peri Wings might be the tastiest in CVille. With some serious heat, these meaty wings pack a punch that leave your flavor profile craving more and more and more,” @JerryMillerNow on The Shebeen Pub & Braai’s Peri-Peri Wings ($10), eight wings spiced with traditional crushed bird’s eye chilies, complimented with bleu cheese dressing, carrots & celery. “For me, right now, it’s between the Peri-Peri Wings and Firefly’s Korean-Style Chicken Wings for tastiest wings in Charlottesville!”
