Introducing Missy Brown, Manager At Greenberry’s Coffee Co. In Charlottesville, Virginia

by

Jerry Miller: Hey guys, Jerry Miller outside Greenberry’s Coffee In Barracks Road Shopping Center and it’s truly my pleasure to have this conversation with Missy Brown, who is the manager her at Greenberry’s Coffee.

Missy, you have a long history with this fabulous company.

Missy Brown: Yes, I ran two of the units for Greenberry’s on the UVa campus grounds. I did that for a little over eight years and then switched to this shop in May.

Jerry Miller: Wow, in May, so it’s kind of still a transition period, perhaps, for you. What are the differences with Greenberry’s on UVa grounds versus Greenberry’s the flagship store?

Missy Brown: As far as on grounds, it’s a lot of UVa students. We have steady points in between classes, the flow varies differently from this shop here. We have a lot of community people that are older versus the younger group with UVa.

Jerry Miller: You know the cool thing about your Barracks store is, I went to UVa and in 2001 I remember coming in here, studying for exams for hours – probably a bad customer because I sat in one seat for like ten hours.

But where I’m going with this is this brand and this business is very much woven into the fabric of the Charlottesville community.

Missy Brown: Absolutely! We have our regular customers that come every day, doesn’t matter whether it’s UVa or whether it’s here at Barracks. But, we have our loyal customers that come every day and they change up their orders, they have the same orders, but they sit back, they relax and have their morning coffee.

Jerry Miller: Cool, that is so cool. What is one of your favorite aspects of working at Greenberry’s? I know you have a lot on your plate as the boss here at a very busy store. But, when you do have time to consider it, what are some of your favorite aspects?

Missy Brown: You know, it’s a laid back environment. You come in and I can sit back and I can see people enjoying their mornings and it’s a relaxing feeling to know that we’re doing that for them.

Jerry Miller: That’s awesome! That was a really good answer!

How about some of your favorite food or drinks here at Greenberry’s? Don’t say all of the above!

Missy Brown: I have so many favorites. I think one of my favorites is the Spinach Feta Croissant. It just has that great taste to it.

Jerry Miller: My wife’s favorite. She loves that.

One of the things I love about Greenberry’s is the family feel, even with the staff. You’ve got Kim, is it Eric Brown? Kim and Eric Brown and then you have yourself, is it your cousin?

Missy Brown: Yes, Lisa Agee, she is our kitchen cook. She’s the head person there.

Jerry Miller: Cool, and then the Fannings, Connor and Corey Fanning. It just seams like the family family environment here.

Missy Brown: It is, it’s a family oriented business and it makes you feel like a part of a big family in the community.

Jerry Miller: When you guys come to Barracks Road, you’re going to see Missy. She’s going to smile, she’s going to have something good for you to say and you’re going to start your day off right at Greenberry’s Coffee at Barracks Road Shopping Center.
