Katherine Knott and Nolan Stout, two reporters at The Daily Progress who are leading the charge to unionize the newspaper’s journalistic staff, joined me live on The I Love CVille Show to spotlight and analyze their efforts.

Newspapers, especially daily ones, are paramount to any community because they serve as the “watch dog” of accountability and the outlet of record that documents history.

Charlottesville needs The Daily Progress, and the newspaper is only as strong as its reporters, photographers, copy editors, designers and other editorial staff. I asked Katherine and Nolan about their team’s vision and short- and long-term strategy for unionization.
