More than 17% of Charlottesville residents must choose between paying for housing, utilities, transportation, medicine or food to feed their family and children. 19.7% of Charlottesville residents are “food insecure” right now. Think about that for a second.
Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry has been providing free groceries to people in need in the Charlottesville area since 2004. In 2016 alone, Loaves & Fishes gave out 1.5 million pounds of food to 58,379 people.
