Meet Sara Of James River Greyhounds

by

Sara works at James River Greyhounds, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding responsible, caring homes for retired racing greyhounds. I spoke to Sara at Dog Fest 2018 presented by Animal Connection about her organization.

Since 1989, James River Greyhounds has found “forever homes” for more than 1100 greyhounds – and counting! They are now partnered with Greyt Love Retirement (GLR) to bring even more greyhounds into the region! GLR provides a shelter to foster greyhounds while they await their forever homes.

James River Greyhounds has several events like regular “meet-and-greets”, where greyhounds and their adopters can come together to socialize and educate others on the joys of greyhound adoption. They also participate in seasonal events like Easter on Parade, Pet Expo and the Grapehounds Virginia winery tour.
