STRATEGY 3: City of Charlottesville, Va – Government should encourage The Sprint Pavilion to add tables and chairs to the covered portion of The Pavilion. The tables and chairs should be positioned to social distancing guidelines and cleaned by a $15 per hour employee during a set period of time each day.
Once the tables and chairs are set, City Hall should encourage folks to support the restaurants on The Mall and enjoy their food and drink while walking The Mall to The Sprint Pavilion.
This strategy creates a new supply of “social distance seating” in Downtown CVille.
In fact, I bet The Sprint Pavilion can offer Downtown CVille more “social distance seating” than most of the restaurant patios combined.
Our leadership must be innovative.
Our leadership must be entrepreneurial.
Our leadership must makeup a $10 million budget deficit.
Charlottesville City Hall must create a value proposition for folks to return to Downtown CVille.
The foundation of this value proposition must be:
1) Safety
2) Social distancing
3) Enjoying outside space
4) Smart traffic flow
5) Support our local businesses
We will analyze STRATEGY 3 today on The I Love CVille Show.
