Travinia Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Charlottesville VA in The Shops at Stonefield is officially out of business. Travinia management notified its employees when they arrived to work this past weekend that the restaurant was permanently out of business.
Travinia Italian Kitchen Holdings Inc., a South Carolina based company, filed a voluntary Chapter 7 liquidation in March, 2019 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
Its Stonefield location was significantly behind on its rent.
Travinia is not the first restaurant to shutter its doors in Stonefield. Pasture, a Richmond-based eatery that opened its second location in Stonefield, closed PastureQ in May, 2015. PastureQ opened in late 2012 with a focus on BBQ.
The Shops at Stonefield have some of the highest rents in Charlottesville. As we know, Charlottesville is saturated with restaurants. The restaurant category is arguably the most competitive of any in CVille. Unfortunately, I’m hearing more Charlottesville-based restaurants will be closing their doors in 2019.
