Public Fish & Oyster has incredibly classy dishes like Virginia rockfish with fennel pollen crust, shellfish ragu and creamy stone ground grits and orange cinnamon creme brulee.

Although technically a steakhouse, Shadwells’ seafood by no means takes a backseat. Their fried oyster platter has roasted corn and black bean salsa served in a Cajun remoulade.

Travinia’s traditional Italian seafood is absolutely delicious. The cioppino amalfi is my favorite dish. It’s a sort of seafood stew with white fish, mussels, scallops, clams and shrimp in a tangy lobster broth.

Vivace’s Italian food is wonderful, but most Americans don’t think of seafood when they think Italian. Vivace has delicious Italian seafood like this salmon served in heirloom tomato gazpacho or their rare ahi tuna with tomato and onion ragout with cannellini beans.
