Here are some great places in Charlottesville to eat. If you haven’t tried them yet, then get out there this weekend and try something new!

1. South Street Brewery, The Downtown Mall (two blocks off)

South Street Brewery has an amazing variety of dishes. With Contemporary American, Asian-Pacific, Continental, Creole, Caribbean and regional Southern dishes, South Street can not be put in any box. Try the stuffed trout!

Rapture specializes in Southern classics with a twist. Choose from dishes like the duck and oyster gumbo, ham and cheddar stuffed chicken breast and fried Brussels sprouts. They have an excellent craft beer selection, as well.

3. Burton’s Grill, Shops At Stonefield

Burton’s is a wonderful New American style restaurant with delicious stuffed zucchini. They have unique dishes like the seafood casserole and Southern classics like the shrimp Po boy. The Pacific Coast Burger is absolutely fantastic.

4. Rhett’s River Grill & Raw Bar, Riverside Center (Rte. 29)

Rhett’s is a fantastic seafood place on Seminole. They know how to do shrimp and fried green tomatoes right. Just try their Endless Summer. They aren’t just good for seafood either. They’ve got a loaded dessert menu. It’ll be difficult to choose. You just might wanna visit a few more times, but start with the bananas foster.

5. Petit Pois Restaurant, The Downtown Mall

Petit Pois has some delicious French bistro cuisine. The Pork loin is out of this world. Just make sure you save some room for the apple crisp.

The Local has an amazing menu. There is chicken with a horseradish and pomegranate glaze, and truffle mac-n-cheese. Try the banana split with caramelized bananas.
