2. Jacey Vineyards
Part of Virginia Living’s top-rated wine trail, Jacey Vineyards distinguishes itself by the breadth of experiences offered to its patrons. With seven docks on their own private cove, flowing directly into Mill Creek and The Chesapeake Bay, they are one of few vineyards nationwide at which visitors can arrive by boat. The close proximity to open water provides a distinctive Spanish – particularly Galician – topography. To match the terroir, they grow Galician grapes like Albariño, and offer a variety of authentic tapas and other Spanish cuisine at their restaurant, nicknamed Velas (“Sails”).
3. Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn
.Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn was founded in 2009 by Shay McNeal. It is the fruit of her labor and vision that we enjoy today, both in the wines that are served, and in the elegant yet relaxed atmosphere of the converted 200 year-old barn.
The winery sits on an historic 50 acre property in the heart of Virginia horse country. Corn cribs, a silo, and a smoke house are but just a few of the hallmarks that speak of the agricultural facets in Aspen Dale’s past.
Enjoy a day at Aspen Dale in Fauquier County. Stroll through grounds where you and your family might meet up with one of the Miniatures. Climb the hill up to the vineyard with glass in hand, or just enjoy it from your gazebo seat near the winery. Nothing beats a day with family, friends and fantastic wine in the country!

Robert and Francesca started Bloxom Vineyard in 2000, when they planted 6 acres of Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, from which they produce fine estate bottled wines, keeping up with their respective generations of wine making traditions from Spain, France and Italy. The winery, which opened its doors in 2004, clearly conveys their mediterranean influence. Their wines range from the classic dry Bordeaux style to semi dry and lightly sweet, and they can be enjoyed in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
