Mincer’s has been a long standing part of Cavalier culture. This family owned shop started in 1948 as a smoke shop. Eventually, Mincer’s began selling UVA merchandise and became a beacon of university spirit on The Corner. They’ve recently opened up a second location in the Stonefield Shopping Center.

Any chilly night on The Downtown Mall will bring pedestrians to the most popular soup place in town. Revolutionary Soup is a locally owned restaurant with all organic and eco-friendly ingredients, but don’t just go there for the soup. They also have great sandwiches and wonderful yet affordable wines.

Twisted Branch is THE gathering place for young people and creative types. It’s a relaxing beautifully decorated tea shop and hookah bar. It’s a place for friends to gather around a pot of tea and just forget the outside world. It’s also a great place to listen to bands on the rise. They’ve also got a fantastic vegetarian menu.

The Virginia Shop is a great gift shop for people looking for a taste of Charlottesville to bring home. They have local vintage wines, gift baskets and gourmet candies and snacks. Don’t forget to visit, Vivi, the shop dog. That little girl’s got a heart of gold.
