Like many, I’ve thought, and dreamed, about having my wedding in Charlottesville when the day comes. A picturesque location, with great history and culture, makes Charlottesville is one of the best places to have a wedding. Not only are Charlottesville weddings beautiful, they’re also affordable. In this article, I will feature some of my favorite wedding venues around Charlottesville. These are not even close to all of the wedding venues Charlottesville offers, or any of the venues that are more so for receptions, but here are my top picks!
One of the most elegant, extravagant, and wonderful venues around Charlottesville is Keswick Hall and Vineyards (Web/Facebook). Keswick has breathtaking views, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful grounds, as well as delicious in-house catering that can be customized to your personal style. Keswick Hall has indoor space for up to 150 guests and outdoor space for 400 guests, as well as 48 guests rooms, and an experienced Wedding Specialist to help make the day just as you’d like it!
Tucked in at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, King Family Vineyards (Web/Facebook) features 360-degree mountain views, award winning wines, and a rural farm setting for your Charlottesville wedding. Able to accommodate varying sized weddings, King Family also offers private dressing rooms and a catering area, all just a short drive from the heart of Charlottesville. You won’t be disappointed with your wedding pictures at King Family Vineyards!
Another great Charlottesville wedding venue is Veritas Vineyard (Web/Facebook), slightly West of Charlottesville in Afton, Va. Offering accommodations for both smaller, more intimate weddings, as well as larger weddings, up to 250 people, Veritas can create the sit-down dinner or large dance party that you’re desiring. Veritas is also known for its high quality, unique wines, derived from vitis vinifera. They also accommodate Weekday Weddings.
If Charlottesville’s history and charm are what attract you to this lovely town, Montpelier (Web/Facebook) is a great wedding venue for you. The home of James and Dolley Madison lays in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers three different wedding packages, The Montpelier Wedding, The Garden Wedding, or the Temple Wedding. A Special Events Coordinator is on-site to help you make your wedding just the way you’d like it!
Able to accommodate up to 300 guests, Barboursville Vineyards (Web/Facebook) is a unique wedding destination that will make your day beautiful, special, and unique just like you! Located 16 miles north of Charlottesville, Barboursville Vineyards is surrounded not only by its own beautiful vines, but also many other local wineries. With wedding coordinators to help you plan everything from florists to photographers, Barboursville Vineyards is a wonderful venue for your Charlottesville wedding.
Pippin Hill Farm (Web/Facebook), the custom-built wedding destination, designed by one of the East Coast’s leading wedding planners, is another breathtaking Charlottesville wedding venue. This beautiful venue is set on an even more beautiful landscape, at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, within Pippin Hill’s own vineyards. Featuring delicious Farm to Table in-house catering and amazing mountain panoramas, Pippin Hill’s “Bespoke” package has everything you need for an unforgettable day!
Last but not least, Mount Ida Farm (Web/Facebook), is located on a secluded 4,000-acre sanctuary creating amazing backdrops for your big day. Featuring tree lined drives, lake or stable side cocktail parties, horse drawn carriages, and more, Mount Ida offers many customizable options to make your wedding just as you wish. Mount Ida also offers accommodations for up to 64 guests as well as helps coordinate transportation to and from their location.
These seven venues are just the beginning of the venues Charlottesville has to offer. I didn’t even mention anywhere on the Downtown Mall or the UVA Chapel, let alone many other hotels, wineries, and venues. I’m sorry if I’ve tempted you to start planning your wedding , but I guess that’s what Pinterest is for anyway!
