There is a new restaurant coming to the Southside of Charlottesville. That is coming up on Miller’s Minute thanks to Greenberry’s Coffee Co., Charlottesville’s longest running coffee roasters.
Well, guys, there is a new restaurant opening in 5th St. Station. Yes, that’s the Wegmans shopping center. It’s called Mochiko CVille. This restaurant, believe it or not, is going to specialize in Hawaiian spam that’s cooked sushi-style!
Mochiko is the brainchild of Riki Tanabe, the chef and owner, who was raised on the island of O’ahu in Hawaii. I’m really excited for Mochiko because the business first launched at The Charlottesville City Market. You may have also seen Mochiko at spots like Random Row Brewing Co.
Fresh spam made Hawaiian-style, these dishes look absolutely delicious. Of course, it’s coming to 5th St. Station where there are families, moviegoers, happy hour customers and more. I think there’s going to be a market and a demand on the Southside of Charlottesville for Mochiko CVille.
Mochiko will join a strong restaurant lineup in 5th Street Station: Timberwood Taphouse, Chimm, Extreme Pizza, Fuzzy’s Tacos, Mochiko (opening soon) and Basil Mediterranean Bistro (opening soon).
