Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar is a great find in the Main Street Market in Charlottesville! This exciting restaurant offers a blend of Italian, Greek, Spanish, and French traditions on their menu and wine list! Co-owned by UVa graduate Ken Wooten and his Charles Roumeliotes, Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar is moderately priced and one of the best eateries in Charlottesville.

A California native, Charles brings 25 years of experience to Charlottesville. His ideas include to “Start with the best ingredients possible, naturally raised and locally sourced.” He is known for this appreciation and respect for food coalesced with a deep understanding of wine!

Charles’ Co-founder and owner, Ken, is also a California native, coming from the San Francisco Bay Area. Ken came to Charlottesville to attend the University of Virginia and worked in local restaurants while studying! He continued to work in Charlottesville restaurants until he found a permanent position at the Metropolitain, including work in management and apprenticeship under Tim Burgess & Vincent Durquenne.

Ken also worked at the Jefferson Hotel, before starting Orzo with Roumeliotes. The two met at Fuel, the gas station and eatery previously near the downtown mall.
