Looking for some classic New Orleans flavor, or a bit of Mediterranean spice? Then head on down to FIG (short for “Food Is Good”), which celebrated its Grand Opening on Thursday, October 3 on The UVa Corner (formerly Cafe Europa).

With organic meat and fresh bread and sausage made in house, FIG is a CVille Foodie’s dream. Not only are their meats and breads wholesome, but they use produce from the C-Ville Farmer’s Market.

Jozo and Anja Andelic, who previously owned Balkan Bistro & Bar in Midtown CVille (it closed earlier this year), have launched FIG, which will feature a Mediterranean, Cajun and Creole-inspired menu.

FIG will also offer “spirited” Happy & Survivor Hours!

For those with a more selective diet, FIG’s got you covered. They have fantastic vegan options like Tofu Steaks served with lemon sauce, oregano, and rosemary. There are also gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well.

Be sure to save room for dessert. They have house made baklava!
