Fridays After Five is a fun way to raise money for our local community. Grab a blanket and listen to live music while enjoying beer and local goods like Carpe Donut!
2. Hiking

Charlottesville is home to many beautiful trails to hike, bike or jog. Personally, I love to hike since it gives me time to take in the area around me and you don’t want to miss a second of the Rivanna trail.
3. Tubing

Tubing is a favorite Virginia pastime. There’s nothing quite as relaxing as floating down the river with your buddies and a floating cooler.
4. Shopping On The Downtown Mall

Hands down, the most popular weekend spot is The Downtown Mall. With all it’s wonderful and unique stores, tables and food carts you can’t blame us!
5. Wine Tasting

Virginia is famous for its vineyards, so it’s no wonder that wine tasting is a popular activity for CVille’s adults. Taste the fine wines while taking in the picturesque scenery of our wineries. Walk along the rows of vines with a special someone. Charlottesville’s vineyards are the perfect getaway.
6. Bar Hopping

Bar hopping is wine tasting’s younger, wilder cousin. CVille has too many amazing bars. You’d have to go to several a night to visit them all!
7. City Market

Beautifully hand crafted jewelry, heirloom tomatoes, honey straws and refreshingly creative teas and punches all get me excited about the Farmer’s Market. It’s where locals come together to sample original goods and where many CVille restaurants got their start.
8. The Jefferson Theater

The Jefferson Theater always has something going on. It could be dance performances, plays, movie screenings or a hilarious vaudeville.
9. Mountain Biking

Walnut Creek Park’s 15 miles of mountain biking trail is a popular destination for cyclists, but Preddy Creek Trail Park now has an advanced mountain bike trail. This trail is too steep for horses, so it’s bikes only!
10. Camping

Charlottesville is a great site for camping. You can enjoy the more traditional sites like Horseshoe Flats or the Charlottesville KOA. There’s also the Misty Mountain Camp Resort that has playgrounds, a pool and live music or you can camp out in a cute little caboose at Heavenly Acres Campground.
